April Specialties Of The Month: Padi Digital Underwater Photographer And Digital Underwater Post-production

Diving Anthony 30 Mar, 2023

Are you a diver who wants to capture the beauty of the underwater world? Or maybe you're a professional photographer looking to expand your skills to the realm of underwater photography?

This April, join us for TWO specialty courses of the month: PADI Digital Underwater Photographer and Underwater Post-Production Specialty courses. These two courses are everything an aspiring underwater photographer needs to take their photography to the next level.

PADI Digital Underwater Photographer

Become a PADI Digital Underwater PhotographerThe PADI Digital Underwater Photographer course is designed for both beginners and experienced photographers alike, as it covers the essential skills required to take stunning underwater images. Whether you're using a simple point-and-shoot camera or a professional DSLR, our instructors will teach you how to get the most out of your equipment to capture the best images possible.

During the course, you'll learn about different underwater photography techniques, including wide-angle, macro, and ambient light photography. You'll also learn how to use strobes and other lighting equipment to create stunning underwater images that pop with color and vibrancy.

In addition to the technical skills, the course will also cover the ethical considerations of underwater photography. You'll learn about how to respect the marine environment and the animals that live within it, and how to take photos in a way that minimizes your impact on the ecosystem.

Digital Underwater Post-Production Course

If you're interested in taking your underwater photography skills even further, we are also offering the Digital Underwater Post-Production Specialty this month. This course is designed to teach you the essential skills required to enhance your underwater images AFTER the dive.

Underwater photos can benefit greatly from post-production editing for several reasons:

  1. Color Correction: Underwater, colors can appear dull and muted due to the way water absorbs and scatters light. Editing software can help you to adjust the white balance and color saturation, bringing out the true colors of your subject.

  1. Exposure Adjustment: Underwater photography can be challenging due to the constantly changing light conditions. Post-production editing can help you to adjust the exposure and brightness of your images, compensating for the underwater lighting conditions and creating a more balanced and visually appealing image.

  1. Removal of Unwanted Objects: Sometimes unwanted objects, such as backscatter, can appear in underwater photos. Post-production editing can help you to remove these objects and create a cleaner, more polished final image.

  1. Enhancing Details: Editing software can also help you to enhance the details of your images, such as the textures of corals, the patterns on a fish's skin, or the intricate details of a sea fan.

Overall, post-production editing allows you to bring out the true beauty of the underwater world and create stunning images that capture the essence of the marine environment. By taking the time to edit your underwater photos, you can transform a good image into an exceptional one that you'll be proud to share with others.

During the course, you'll learn how to use photo editing software such as Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop to adjust exposure, color balance, and contrast, as well as remove unwanted elements from your images. You'll also learn how to create stunning visual effects and apply different styles to your images to make them stand out.Student testimonial from Photo Post-Production class
