The PADI Full Face Mask Diver Specialty

From talking underwater to breathing through your nose; discover a whole new way to dive!

The Fun Part

You've probably seen full face masks in movies and thought "but how do they clear" or "what if their primary fails?" You'll learn all of this and more all while looking cooler than James Bond! 

What You Learn

You learn:

  • What the three types of full face masks are
  • What the advantages and disadvantages of each type are
  • How to properly prepare a full face mask for diving 
  • How to communicate with your full face mask
  • What the most common problems are and how to prevent, respond, and deal with them
  • and so much more!

You will conduct one confined water dive and two open water dives for this specialty. 


  • PADI Open Water Diver (or hold a qualifying certification from another training organization)
  • 12 years old or older

The Scuba Gear You Use

You will use all of your normal scuba gear plus an appropriately fitted full face mask, with all necessary accessories, and a standard backup mask. 



Below, you will find the paperwork necessary to begin this course. Please either drop off or email us a completed copy as soon as possible. We will need to review this prior to the start of your class.

The cost of the course is $300 and includes the training materials, and the 1 confined and 2 open water dives, with the full face mask, tanks and weights. Rental gear, scuba park entrance fees, overnight accommodations, travel and meals are not included.
