A DSMB is an important safety tool for divers; especially if you enjoy exciting things like drift diving! Knowing how to safely launch a DSMB while underwater is something every diver should know.

How to safely launch a DSMB
How to care for and stow your DSMB and reel
When and in what conditions you should launch your DSMB

You put this information into practice during two open water dives.

Prerequisites

PADI Open Water Diver (or hold a qualifying certification from another training organization)
12 years or older

The Scuba Gear You Use

You use all your basic scuba gear as well as a DSMB, reel, and cutting tool.
