In the PADI Mermaid Instructor™ course, you’ll refine your PADI Mermaid™ certifications and apply them to teaching others the wonders of the underwater world. You’ll learn the basics of how to design your own program, using the PADI teaching system. Knowledge Development: Join Jen Downey, your Mermaid Instructor Trainer, in an online session with modules designed to teach you the ins and outs of the PADI system. Learn about standards, risk assessment, the power of PADI and more!

Exam

Prerequisites:

Minimum Age: 18 years or older can join the adventure!

Swimming Skills: You should be able to swim set distances without swim aids, float comfortably for a set time, and be in good health.

Completed EFR Primary and Secondary Care training (or have a qualifying certification) within the last 24 months. This course is also available with Blue Planet!

PADI Advanced Mermaid certification.

Current medical statement signed by a physician within the previous 12 months.
Equipment
In the PADI Mermaid Instructor course, you’ll need:

Monofin, tailskin, mask, snorkel, fins suitable for freediving, wetsuit as appropriate, and weight belts with weights in small increments. Available for rent and you’ll need to have your own to teach future courses).

A float suitable for support (Will be provided for the course and you’ll need to have your own to teach future courses).

First Aid and Emergency Oxygen (Will be provided for the course and you’ll need to have your own to teach future courses).
