The PADI AUA Underwater Dance course introduces students to the knowledge and techniques involved in breath-holding, underwater movement, and dance performance. Designed specifically for underwater dance enthusiasts, it falls within the realm of breath-hold diving and artistic expression, emphasizing specialized breathing techniques, costuming, choreography, and relevant safety protocols.

The Experience:

The PADI AUA Underwater Dance course consists of two parts:
•    Knowledge development – you’ll spend two hours with your instructor either over Zoom or in-person in our classroom.
•    Confined Water Training - four hours of in-water training in the pool.

This course will give you the skills needed to master the theoretical knowledge and practical application methods of underwater dance and give you the ability to adapt and demonstrate underwater dance techniques in confined water (aka “the pool”).

Prerequisites

•    Minimum Age: 10 years or older
•    Must be a certified Basic Freediver, Basic Mermaid, or the equivalent.

The Gear You Use

For the PADI AUA Underwater Dance course you will need a mask, snorkel and fins, and may also use a wetsuit and weight belt. Using gear designed specifically for freediving is preferred, however, you may be able to use snorkeling equipment you already own. If in doubt, contact us!
