The Fun Part
You've probably seen full face masks in movies and thought "but how do they clear" or "what if their primary fails?" You'll learn all of this and more all while looking cooler than James Bond!
What You Learn
You learn:
- What the three types of full face masks are
- What the advantages and disadvantages of each type are
- How to properly prepare a full face mask for diving
- How to communicate with your full face mask
- What the most common problems are and how to prevent, respond, and deal with them
- and so much more!
You will conduct one confined water dive and two open water dives for this specialty.
Prerequisites
- PADI Open Water Diver (or hold a qualifying certification from another training organization)
- 12 years old or older
The Scuba Gear You Use
You will use all of your normal scuba gear plus an appropriately fitted full face mask, with all necessary accessories, and a standard backup mask.
Required Paperwork
We'll be sending new students a Smartwaiver to let you fill out all the required paperwork online. This will include a Medical Questionnaire which may require you to get a physician's approval prior to diving.

Your Next Adventure
