Celebrate World Ocean Day: Dive Against Debris and Beach Cleanup at Sandy Point!
Every June 8, divers, ocean lovers and conservationists around the world unite to celebrate World Ocean Day—a global reminder that the ocean connects us all and needs our protection now more than ever.
This year, we’re inviting YOU to be part of something that truly makes a difference.
Join Our World Ocean Day Dive Against Debris & Beach Cleanup
Location: Sandy Point State Park, Annapolis, MD
Date: Sunday, June 8, 2025
Time: 7:00 AM – 11:00 AM
We’re hosting our first Dive Against Debris underwater cleanup of the year, alongside a beach cleanup for non-divers and families. Whether you're a certified diver or just passionate about protecting our waterways, there's a way for you to get involved.
Why It Matters
Marine debris is one of the biggest threats to ocean health—endangering wildlife, polluting ecosystems, and even affecting the food we eat. With every bottle cap, fishing line, or plastic wrapper we remove, we’re making the Chesapeake Bay safer and taking a stand for the ocean’s future.
