Kim Walker first became interested in scuba diving in 1997 while stationed at Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii. Upon returning to DC, he joined a dive club and obtain more advanced certifications thus becoming a dive instructor in 2010. Kim felt strongly to give back to the sport by teaching and sharing his experiences with others. He has been with Blue Planet since 2012.
Along the way, Kim volunteered time with National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) as a scientific diver and with “Diving With a Purpose” (DWP) focusing on underwater archeology.
In addition to the US, Kim has extensive dive experience throughout the Caribbean, Central America, South America, Mexico, Red Sea, Pacific, and Africa.
Since his retirement from the US Air Force and local government, Kim’s goal is to dive at all the world’s top diving destinations at least once.
